PROGRAM INTRODUCTION
Architectural Restoration Program
is an associate degree program that aims to transfer all immovable and movable
cultural assets that have historical and cultural value to the future by
ensuring the protection and repair of all cultural assets with scientific and
correct methods. In the Architectural Restoration Program, 2 years (4
semesters, each semester at least 14 weeks) education is given. In order for
students to graduate, they must have a GPA of 2.00 or above and must also do an
internship for 30 working days. The
education and training given in this program is in the form of theoretical and
practical courses, projects and workshops, professional development and
professional practices and is capable of responding to the needs of the sector
and protection awareness.
PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES OF THE
PROGRAM
The protection of cultural
heritage is as important for creating the values of the future as the past. At
this point, the aim of the Architectural Restoration Program is to train
technical staff who are conservation conscious, environmentally sensitive, responsible,
able to follow contemporary developments, equipped with practical and
theoretical skills, able to carry out conservation and repair work, and able to
provide communication between the architect and the working staff in our
country, which has a history of thousands of years of civilization.
In order to achieve this goal;
students are trained in many fields such as architecture and art history,
archaeology, documentation techniques, conservation theory and conservation
techniques, traditional building types, construction systems and materials,
traditional handicrafts, technical drawing, surveying, analyzing, determining
the current situation, drawing restitution and restoration projects, drawing
computer-aided drawing.
FIELDS OF STUDY
Students who graduate from this
program receive an associate degree diploma and the title of technician,
archaeologist, art historian, architect, civil engineer, etc. They can work
together with members of disciplines.

The Vertical Transfer Examination
(DGS) is conducted by ÖSYM for successful students who graduate from Vocational
Schools Programs to make vertical transfer to formal education undergraduate
programs.
