PROGRAM INTRODUCTION

Clothing production, which has been operating with small enterprises in our country since the 1950s, has rapidly entered the world market after 1980 and opened up to the global market. Great progress has been made in this field in recent years. The textile and garment sector, which is the locomotive of the Turkish economy, makes significant contributions to the national economy with its sales to domestic and foreign markets. Clothing production technology employs thousands of people thanks to its labor-intensive structure. High employment rates in this field have positive effects on the welfare of the society. The Clothing Production Technology Program is one of the primary sources applied to provide qualified manpower in the areas needed by the Textile and Ready-to-Wear sector. This program is an associate degree program that trains clothing production technicians and the duration of education is two years and consists of four semesters. The courses are semester courses and students are given 2 years of education (4 semesters, each semester at least 14 weeks). In order for students to graduate, they must have a GPA of 2.00 or above and do an internship for 30 working days. In addition, in our vocational school, our students work in enterprises and improve themselves during the semester within the scope of workplace training course in the 3rd semester or 4th semester.  The education and training given in this program is in the form of theoretical and practical courses, project and workshop studies, professional development and professional practices and is qualified to meet the needs of the sector.

 

PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAM

We aim to train qualified professional staff who are open to national and international information sharing related to the field of clothing production, who have the ability to plan, produce and manage products and processes under optimum conditions, taking into account technological, environmental and social sensitivities, and who can meet the needs of the sector with art, aesthetics and design reference. Our goal is to train qualified intermediate staff who can adapt to technological and structural developments in the relevant branches of the Textile-Clothing industry, who can adapt to technological and structural developments in the relevant branches of the Textile-Clothing industry, who can translate the theoretical knowledge they have acquired into practice, customer representation, production departments; planning, model design, collection and sample preparation, cutting, assembly, ironing, quality control stages, production at every stage of the product until the end of production.

There are many business areas where our students who graduate from Clothing and Production Technology can settle. Some of them are;

- Design, Planning, Cutting, Mold, Production, Quality Control, Marketing departments of the apparel industry,

- In both production and design departments of Weaving, Knitting, Printing departments

Pattern design, product development departments of textile factories,

 

- Fashion houses

- Model households

- Fashion Agencies,

- Design Studios

- They can work in institutions that provide education and marketing of computer textile and design programs,

- They can establish their individual businesses.

 

VERTICAL TRANSFER OPPORTUNITIES

The Vertical Transfer Examination (DGS) is conducted by ÖSYM for successful students who graduate from Vocational Schools Programs to make vertical transfer to formal education undergraduate programs.
